At Red Sage Integrative Veterinary Partners, we know that not every joint problem is the same, and that’s why we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. We offer a variety of targeted joint injection therapies to address pain, inflammation, and degeneration based on your pet’s specific condition, stage of disease, and long-term needs.
In this post, we’re exploring four effective and commonly used options for joint injections: Arthramid, Spryng, Hyaluronic Acid (HA), and Triamcinolone-- all of which can be used on their own or paired with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) or stem cells for a regenerative boost.
Arthramid: Restoring Joint Structure from the Inside
Arthramid® Vet is an advanced injectable treatment made of polyacrylamide hydrogel. Unlike traditional joint injections that focus only on reducing inflammation, Arthramid integrates into the synovial membrane— the tissue lining the joint capsule— and works over time to rebuild and stabilize the joint environment.
Key benefits:
Long-lasting effect (often 12+ months)
Improves synovial membrane health
Reduces joint inflammation and pain

Spryng: A Collagen-Based Cushion for Joints
Spryng™ is a relatively new product that acts like a bioscaffold; a gel-like matrix composed of specially engineered collagen particles. It mimics the natural properties of cartilage and helps to cushion the joint, improving comfort and function.
Best for:
Long-lasting effect (often 12+ months)
When increased joint cushioning is needed

Hyaluronic Acid (HA): Natural Lubrication + Joint Support
Hyaluronic Acid is found naturally in healthy joints and plays a crucial role in joint lubrication and shock absorption. When injected, HA can temporarily restore viscosity, reduce inflammation, and improve joint mechanics, especially in early arthritis or after injury.
We often use HA:
In combination with PRP, Stem Cells, Triamcinolone, Arthramid or Spryng
To enhance comfort and joint function during recovery

Triamcinolone: Rapid Inflammation Relief
Triamcinolone is a long-acting corticosteroid commonly used in joint injections to quickly reduce inflammation and pain. It’s especially helpful for:
Acute flare-ups of arthritis
Severe inflammation in high-motion joints
Pets who need short-term relief to stay comfortable or mobile
While steroids don’t heal cartilage or tissues, they are often used in combination with regenerative therapies (like PRP or HA) to reduce the inflammatory environment so healing can occur.

Combining Therapies for Maximum Benefit
Many of the pets we treat benefit most from a multi-modal approach.
We customize every treatment plan based on your pet’s history, lifestyle, disease stage, and response to prior therapies. Some pets benefit from a single injection, while others receive a series of injections over time as part of a complete integrative care plan.
Joint injections are just one of many ways we support your pet’s mobility, comfort, and long-term health. Whether your dog is slowing down on walks or your performance horse is developing stiffness, we’re here to find the right tools-- regenerative, restorative, and supportive-- to keep them feeling their best.
