Jamie Gross, MA, MSW, LSW, AASW
Clinic Counselor
Jamie is a licensed social worker and certified animal-assisted social worker. Originally from Pennsylvania, Jamie moved out west to attend University of Denver for graduate school. She worked in the field of human and protective services before returning to DU to obtain her master of social work, while also completing the animal-assisted social work certificate through the Institute for Human-Animal Connection. Jamie has utilized animal assisted interventions while working in hospice and in at-risk youth programs. She has always been interested in studying the human animal bond and how our connections with animals enrich our lives, as well as understanding grief and loss in our relationships. She is excited to work in the field of veterinary social work and connect with clients through their love of animals.
In her spare time, Jamie enjoys volunteering in the community, fostering for dog rescue, and spending time with her dogs and horse, Cookie. She resides with her partner, Matt, their six dogs, and always a foster pup or two, in Fort Collins. Jamie looks forward to supporting the Red Sage community in this new role.

She and her husband have one young child, two dogs, and probably too many houseplants. In non-pandemic times, she and her family enjoy patios, beers, and food trucks at the local breweries.

Emily Nordengren

Emily was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio but has been living out west amongst the mountains since 2016. She studied English at The Ohio State University before realizing that she wanted to work with animals for the rest of her life. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2012 and hasn’t looked back. Emily and her dog, Mabel, just recently moved to the Fort Collins area from Jackson Hole, Wyoming and are thoroughly enjoying their new home. In her free time, Emily enjoys mountain biking, hiking, yoga, gardening and doing puzzles. She can’t wait for the world to open back up to see live music, go dancing and travel!
