Dr. Arielle Pechette Markley is a board-certified veterinary specialist in Canine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (DACVSMR) and serves as the Director of Research at Red Sage Integrative Veterinary Partners in Fort Collins, Colorado. With over 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. Pechette Markley’s background spans emergency medicine, general veterinary practice, and specialty referral care, giving her a comprehensive perspective on patient management and performance health in companion, working, and competitive dogs.
Her clinical and research interests focus on canine biomechanics, osteoarthritis management, injury prevention, and performance optimization, with a particular emphasis on agility and working dogs. She has received multiple competitive research grants, supporting projects involving workload monitoring, sport-specific biomechanics, wearable sensor technology, osteoarthritis management, and lumbosacral disease. She is the author of numerous peer-reviewed research articles, abstracts, and textbook chapters, and her work is frequently referenced in the sports medicine and rehabilitation community.
Dr. Pechette Markley is also co-founder of the Canine Sports Science Consortium, an international collaborative research network dedicated to advancing evidence-based approaches to canine sports health and rehabilitation. She is passionate about bridging scientific research and clinical practice, transforming complex research findings into practical, accessible treatment and conditioning strategies for veterinarians, trainers, and dog owners.
At Red Sage, she provides both clinical care and research leadership, helping develop innovative rehabilitation, conditioning, and pain management programs tailored to each individual dog’s performance goals and lifestyle.
When she’s not writing or conducting research, Dr. Pechette Markley enjoys competing in agility with her Border Collie, Jax, trail running, rock climbing, and yoga.
