Red Sage Chiropractic Services

Animal Chiropractic is the use of high velocity low amplitude (HVLA) adjustments to restore normal movements within a joint.  These "fixations" or loss of normal movement can result in reduced blood flow and nervous input to the areas that they supply so the adjustment restores normal flow of neurologic input and nutrients to the deficient area, improving comfort as well as function.

Benefits of chiropractic care

  • Chiropractic adjustments increase blood flow and nervous system input to the vital organs of the body. In this way, chiropractic truly can help any medical ailment.

  • The traditional "pop" heard in human adjustments rarely occurs in our quadruped companions. Quadrupeds, who walk on all fours, have a horizontal spine and don't build up CO2 in their joints like humans do.

  • Animals hold their adjustments much longer than people and usually only require monthly adjustments for maintenance, rather than weekly as is commonly found in people.

  • Chiropractic therapy is appropriate for all patients of all ages and life-stages, even puppies! This is because it is most effective as a preventative intervention to maintain a healthy spine and optimal organ function, rather than to treat advanced disease stages.

  • Chiropractic adjustment is often well tolerated by our furry friends.  Sedation is not required and in fact should be avoided, as we want them to be fully awake and able to respond to each adjustment.
